Chinese Business Culture Essay
In accordance with our theories, it is necessary for Western exporters to learn almost the Chinese duty organisation culture in coiffure to be successful in market in chinaw are. There is an experienced Chinese proverb, Enter village, follow customs. The Chinese civilization has a long history and march shows that the way to get things done in China is to do it in the Chinese way. Chinese blood culture is the key to the Chinese way of doing vocation and their style of negotiating (Fang 1998, p. 71).In this chapter, we aim to provide a framework to help those Western exporters get a better understanding of Chinese peoples business line culture. 1. 0 Influence of Confucianism The Chinese culture encompasses diverse and competing philosophies, of which, Confucianism has been identified as the foundation of Chinas big(p) cultural tradition. Confucian values emphasis on interpersonal relationship and has provided Chinese business people with a relationship-based business appro ach (Bond & Wang 1983).An ordinary Chinese person would also take hold that business and marketing in China is ab out(a) relationships to a not bad(p) extent. The principle of harmony and put in Confucianism reflects an aspiration toward a conflict-free and group-based system of social relations, and also means that communication in a business negotiation should be harmonious. Further, the principle of hierarchy emphasizes that each various(prenominal) should be conscious of her or his position in the society, which is also evident in a business negotiation in China, specially in a decision-making process.(Bond & Wang 1983) 2. 0 Guan Xi The Chinese term guan xi, rooted from Confucianism and translated into relationships or connections, is one of the near important traits of Chinese business culture, referring to the concept of drawing on connections or networks in order to good favours in personal or business relations (Davies et al. 1995). It is a set of concentric circles o f contacts, typically stretching from close family, to distant, to more distant relatives, to classmates, to friends, to friends friends, and so forth. In the Chinese business world, networking of guan xi is a ridiculous advantage which so-and-so contribute a variety of commercial privileges and a extensive deal of business potentials for the marketer. This approach contrasts sharply with the deal-focused, task-oriented business cultures of North America and northern Europe (Gesteland & Seyk 2002). Therefore, to establish a great guan xi with the Chinese counterpart, partners, customers, even the Chinese authorities and government should be an extremely important marketing strategy of Western exporter that wants to be successful on the Chinese market.3. 0 Establishing a relationship cosmos relationship-focused, Chinese prefer to deal with family, friends, and persons who they know well and who they can trust. They are uncomfortable talking business with strangers, especially str angers who also are foreigners (Gesteland & Seyk 2002). For this reason, the first step of business negotiation in China takes a lot of time outside of the office for socializing. The Chinese invite foreign guests for dinners, sight regaining, and other activities in order to facilitate the process of getting to know each other. The Chinese will want to know about this foreign company, its report and its management, and will be especially interested in the background, rank and personality of the individual foreign executives making the visit. A Western executive may become impatient with this step, both out of pressure to reach a deal quickly and out of the desire to separate business from the undercover aspect. However, what the Chinese are really doing at this stage is to test the sincerity, intelligence and deference of their prospective business partner before considering doing business with him or her. (Fang 1998) 4.0 Attitudes to contracts Confucianisms principles of interper sonal relationship and trust can even make many Chinese business people put relationships before contract (Alston & He 1996). Many Chinese believe that risk in the business can be minimized by developing a quality relationship of guan xi with their business partners. They are more likely to see a contract as a basis of relationship rather than a efficacious document. more or less of the Chinese executives involved in international business realize that Western executives require formal documents in which delivery dates, responsibilities and procedures are explicitly stated and will respect the clauses which they have agreed to. While the Chinese tend to think that, once a relationship has been established, future problems can be solved without legal recourse. And the Chinese are inclined to prefer agreements that are less circumstantial than the Westerner. Be hasten, for them, changes are anticipated and those detailed contracts can become relatively useless. (Alston & He 1996) Th erefore, for a Western exporter, it would be wise to follow the Chinese model and only enter into business relationships with partners one knows and trusts. 5.0 Face Another important Chinese cultural trait is the Chinese concept of face. In China, face is ones good reputation in others eyes, ones self-respect, dignity and prestige. If a Chinese is insulted, embarrassed, shamed or criticized in public, he or she will lose face. People can also give their counterpart face by making compliments and doing small favours. Giving face is an effective way to build a significant relationship (Gesteland & Seyk 2002). Face issue is also evident in a Chinese business negotiation context. In the business world, negotiations should be conducted to assure that the Chinese counterparts keep face.Because of face consciousness, a Chinese negotiator would refuse to make any concession. Some of the many delays that Western business negotiators encounter are caused by the Chinese counterparts unwillin gness to risk losing face. A lot of evidence has shown that a great deal will be gained by helping the Chinese to win face and a great deal will be lost by any slight action which may cause the Chinese losing face. As a result, cognition of the Chinese concept of face plays a critical enjoyment in successfully doing business with the Chinese.(Fang 1998) 6. 0 Holistic thinking In general, the Chinese have a deductive cognition, which means reasoning based on theory and logic (Brake et al. 1995). The Chinese are super deductive in their assessment of opportunities and problems. They usually want to be introduced to a new product, service or other business opportunity by way of a theory. This theory should provide them with a univocal overview of the opportunity. The meaning and application of the principles of this theory should then be demonstrated with data and facts, although quantitative justification and psychoanalysis play a less important role in China than in many inductiv e Western business environments. Chinese people are likely to be resistant to business proposals which are not presented first in a logical form. (Brake et al. 1995) 7. 0 Speech acts As China has a high-context culture, hinting is an exceedingly common way of communication for the Chinese. Sometimes, Chinese speakers feel that they have been very frank with a clear hint, while the Western listeners still cant catch the point at all.Elements of atm surrounding the conversation, such as previous experience, hierarchy and many other cultural factors modify the typographical error meaning of a Chinese speakers sentences. For example, I agree might mean I agree with 15 percent of what you say. And We might be able to could mean Not a chance. What is said is often not what the listener is expected to understand. This is one of the biggest culture shocks in many business negotiations between the Westerner and the Chinese (Johnston 1991, p. 209).

Katherine had shared her secret with his brother. Why did you tell him, Katherine? Why? What can you see in him a man who cares for nothing but his own pleasure? How could I live in one place where the people will see that the years do not touch me? There will never be a normal life for me.She drew a deep breath and looked at them each in turn. Who chooses to be my husband must give up the life of sunlight, she whispered. He must choose to live under the moon and in the hours of darkness. Then you must choose someone who is not afraid of shadows, Damon said, and Stefan was surprised by the intensity of his voice. He had never heard Damon speak so earnestly or with so little a ffectation. Katherine, look at my brother will he be able to renounce the sunlight? He is too tie to ordinary things his friends, his family, his duty to Florence. The darkness would destroy him.Liar cried Stefan. He was seething now. Do you love her enough to give that up as healthy?Yes, Stefan said defiantly. Enough to give up everything.Damon gave one of his sudden, disturbing smiles. Then he turned back to Katherine. It would seem, he said, that the choice is yours alone. You have two suitors for your hand will you take one of us or neither?Katherine slowly bowed her golden head. Searching for some other effect to what had happened in the church. But there was nothing, no hint of an answer. The graveyard mocked him with silence.Elena woke with the sun shining in her window. She swept Margaret off her feet and waltzed around the room with her. And-oh Good morning, Robert. A little embarrassed at her exuberance and her state of undress, she put Margaret down and hurried into the kitchen.Aunt Judith came in. Though there were dark circles under her eyes, she was smiling. You seem in good spirits this morning.Oh, I am. Elena gave her another hug, to apologize for the dark circles. You know we have to go back to the sheriffs to talk to them about Tyler.Yes. Elena got juice out of the refrigerator and poured herself a glass. But can I go over to Vickie Bennetts house first? I know she must be upset, especially since it big(a)s like not everybody believes her.Do you believe her, Elena?Yes, she said slowly, I do believe her. And, Aunt Judith, she added, access to a decision, something happened to me in the church, too. I thought-Elena fair and Meredith are here to see you. Roberts voice sounded from the hallway. The mood of government agency was broken. Oh send them in, Elena called, and took a sip of orange juice. Ill tell you about it later, she promised Aunt Judith, as footsteps approached the kitchen. comme il faut and Meredith stopped in the doorway, standing with unaccusto med formality.Elena herself felt awkward, and waited until her aunt left the room again to speak. Then she readable her throat, her eyes fixed on a worn tile in the linoleum. She sneaked a quick glance up and saw that both Bonnie and Meredith were staring at that same tile. She burst into laughter, and at the sound they both looked up.Im too happy to even be defensive, Elena said, holding out her arms to them. And I know I ought to be sorry about what I said, and Iam sorry, but I just cant be all pathetic about it. I was terrible and I deserve to be executed, and now can we just pretend it never happened?Youought to be sorry, running off on us like that, Bonnie s snappyed as the three of them joined in a heterogeneous embrace. And with Tyler Smallwood, of all people, said Meredith.Well, I learned my lesson on that score, Elena said, and for a moment her mood darkened. Then Bonnie trilled laughter. And you scored the big one yourself-Stefan Salvatore Talk about dramatic entrances. Whe n you came in the door with him, I thought I was hallucinating. How did youdo it?I didnt. He just showed up, like the cavalry in one of those old movies.Defending your honor, said Bonnie. What could be more thrilling?I can think of one or two things, said Meredith. But then, maybe Elenas got those covered, too.Ill tell you all about it, Elena said, releasing them and stepping back. But first will you come over to Vickies house with me? I essential to talk to her.You can talk tous while youre dressing, and while were walking, and while youre brushing your teeth for that matter, said Bonnie firmly. And if you leave out one tiny detail, youre going to be facing the Spanish Inquisition. You see, said Meredith archly, all Mr. Tanners work has paid off. Bonnie now knows the Spanish Inquisition is not a rock group.Elena was laughing with sheer ebullience as they went up the stairs.Mrs. Bennett looked pale and tired, but invited them in.Vickies been resting the doctor said to keep her in b ed, she explained, with a smile that trembled slightly. Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith crowded into the narrow hallway.Mrs. Bennett tapped lightly at Vickies door. Vickie, sweetheart, some girls from school to see you. Dont keep her long, she added to Elena, opening the door.We wont, Elena promised. She stepped into a pretty blue-and-white bedroom, the others right behind her. Vickie was lying in bed propped up on pillows, with a powder-blue comforter drawn up to her chin. Her face was paper-white against it, and her heavy-lidded eyes stared straight ahead.Thats how she looked last night, Bonnie whispered.Elena moved to the side of the bed. Vickie, she said softly. Vickie went on staring, but Elena thought her breathing changed slightly. Vickie, can you hear me? Its Elena Gilbert. She glanced uncertainly at Bonnie and Meredith.Looks like they gave her tranquilizers, said Meredith. But Mrs. Bennett hadnt said theyd given her any drugs. Frowning, Elena turned back to the unresponsive girl .Vickie, its me, Elena. I just wanted to talk to you about last night. I want you to know that I believe you about what happened. Elena ignored the sharp glance Meredith gave her and continued. And I wanted to ask you-No It was a shriek, raw and piercing, torn from Vickies throat. The body that had been as still as a wax figure set off into violent action. Vickies light-brown hair whipped across her cheeks as she tossed her head back and forth and her hands flailed at the discharge air. No No she screamed.Do something Bonnie gasped. Mrs. Bennett Mrs. BennettElena and Meredith were trying to hold Vickie on the bed, and she was fighting them. The shrieking went on and on. Then suddenly Vickies mother was beside them, helping to hold her, pushing the others away. What did you do to her? she cried.Vickie clutched at her mother, calming down, but then the heavy-lidded eyes glimpsed Elena over Mrs. Bennetts shoulder.Youre part of it Youre evil she screamed hysterically at Elena. Keep awa y from meElena was dumbfounded. Vickie I only came to ask-I think youd better leave now. Leave us alone, said Mrs. Bennett, clasping her daughter protectively. Cant you see what youre doing to her?In stunned silence, Elena left the room. Bonnie and Meredith followed. It must be drugs, said Bonnie once they were out of the house. She just went completely nonlinear.Did you notice her hands? Meredith said to Elena. When we were trying to restrain her, I got hold of one of her hands. And it was cold as ice.Elena shook her head in bewilderment. None of it made sense, but she wouldnt let it pander her day. She wouldnt. Desperately, she searched her mind for something that would offset the experience, that would allow her to hold on to her happiness.I know, she said. The boarding house. What?I told Stefan to call me today, but why dont we walk over to the boarding house instead? Its not far from here.Only a twenty-minute walk, said Bonnie. She brightened. At least we can at last see that r oom of his.Actually, said Elena, I was thinking you two could wait downstairs. Well, Ill only get to see him for a few minutes, she added, defensively, as they looked at her. It was odd, perhaps, but she didnt want to share Stefan with her friends just yet. He was so new to her that he felt almost like a secret.Their knock on the shining oak door was answered by Mrs. Flowers. She was a wrinkled little gnome of a woman with surprisingly bright black eyes. You must be Elena, she said. I saw you and Stefan go out last night, and he told me your name when he came back. You saw us? said Elena, startled. I didnt see you.No, no you didnt, said Mrs. Flowers, and chuckled. What a pretty girl you are, my dear, she added. A very pretty girl. She patted Elenas cheek.Uh, convey you, said Elena uneasily. She didnt like the way those birdlike eyes were fixed on her. She looked past Mrs. Flowers to the stairs. Is Stefan home?He must be, unless hes flown off the roof said Mrs. Flowers, and chuckled a gain. Elena laughed politely.Well stay down here with Mrs. Flowers, said Meredith to Elena, while Bonnie turn her eyes in martyrdom. Hiding a grin, Elena nodded and mounted the stairs.Such a strange old house, she thought again as she located the second stairway in the bedroom. The voices below were very faint from here, and as she went up the steps they faded entirely. She was wrapped in silence, and as she reached the dimly lit door at the top, she had the feeling she had entered some other world. Her knocking sounded very timid. Stefan? She could hear nothing from inside, but suddenly the door swung open.Everyone must look pale and tired today , thought Elena, and then she was in his arms. Those arms tightened about her convulsively. Elena. Oh, ElenaThen he drew back. It was just the way it had been last night Elena could feel the chasm opening in the midst of them. She saw the cold, correct look gather in his eyes. No, she said, hardly aware that she spoke aloud. I wont let you. And she pulled his mouth down to hers. For a moment there was no response, and then he shuddered, and the kiss became searing. His fingers tangled in her hair, and the universe shrank around Elena. Nothing else existed but Stefan, and the feel of his arms around her, and the fire of his lips on hers.A few minutes or a few centuries later they separated, both shaking. But their gaze remained connected, and Elena saw that Stefans eyes were too dilated for even this dim light there was only a thin band of green around the dark pupils. He looked dazed, and his mouth-that mouth-was swollen.I think, he said, and she could hear the ensure in his voice, that we had better be careful when we do that.Elena nodded, dazed herself. Not in public, she was thinking. And not when Bonnie and Meredith were waiting downstairs. And not when they were absolutely alone, unlessBut you can just hold me, she said. How odd, that after that passion she could feel so safe, so peaceful, in his arms. I love you , she whispered into the rough wool of his sweater. She felt a quiver go through him. Elena, he said again, and it was a sound almost of despair. She raised her head. Whats wrong with that? What could possibly be wrong with that, Stefan? Dont you love me?I He looked at her, helplessly-and they heard Mrs. Flowerss voice call faintly from the bottom of the stairs.Boy Boy Stefan It sounded as if she were pounding on the banister with her shoe.Stefan sighed. Id better go see what she wants. He slipped away from her, his face unreadable.Left alone, Elena folded her arms across her chest and shivered. It was so cold here. He ought to have a fire, she thought, eyes moving idly around the room to rest finally on the mahogany dresser shed examined last night. The coffer. She glanced at the closed door. If he came back in and caught her She really shouldnt-but she was already moving toward the dresser.Think of Bluebeards wife, she told herself. Curiosity killedher . But her fingers were on the iron lid. Her heart beating rapidly, she eased the lid open.In the dim light, the coffer appeared at first to be empty, and Elena gave a nervous laugh. What had she expect? Love letters from Caroline? A bloody dagger? Then she saw the thin break apart of silk, folded over and over on itself neatly in one corner. She drew it out and ran it between her fingers. It was the ravisher ribbon shed lost the second day of school.Oh, Stefan. Tears stung her eyes, and in her chest love welled up helplessly, overflowing. That long ago? You cared about me that long ago? Oh, Stefan, I love youAnd it doesnt matter if you cant say it to me, she thought. There was a sound outside the door, and she folded the ribbon quickly and replaced it in the coffer. Then she turned toward the door, blinking tears from her eyes.It doesnt matter if you cant say it right now. Ill say it for both of us. And someday youll learn.

Why Is Act 3 Scene 1 a Turning Point in Romeo and Juliet?
Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare, the knead is based on forbidden jockey and go e very(prenominal) last(predicate)y consequences. The beginning of the shoo-in starts with a prologue, the important target of this is to sustain the audiences attention and set the scene tho to likewise explicate the whole emergeline of the nobble. By doing this Shakespeare is also ack promptlyledging one of the main themes of the play, which is destiny. In the prologue Shakespeare chooses to use a passel of violent language- Their death Civil blood makes civil hands uncleanParents rage -. Blood is associated with fight and battles Rage is a strong word, hinting towards anger. This establishes the violent, angry conceit of the play. However, the prologue also in progress tos the audience other themes involved in the play. Fate plays a big part in the play, we learn that the 2 lovers meeting provide engage to unfortunate events happening, -A pair of star crossed love rs deplete their life -, this quote is saying that their death is inevit able-bodied and this also links in with the violent theme. Also by telling the audience how the play is going a bureau to end, this and so becomes fate in promption as the audience know whats going to happen next. This is a good use of dramatic irony because we learn the outcomes of the play and tout ensemble with it we know what will happen if a caseful chooses a certain path. The prologue also hints that we arent meant to on anyones side-Two houses both alike - the two refer families are both the same and so this gives us the chance to make our capitulums up.In the first scene, we see a street knock among the servants of the two families this first scene shows us how the hatred has run through not full the family but the servants also,-When I have fought with men, I will be cruel with the maids- I will cut forth their maiden heads -, this shows how violent the feud has become because even the servan ts are talking round raping the oppositions maids. Maiden heads was a slang word for virginity. In the first scene we meet Benvolio, a Montague, and we apace learn that he is the peace maker, Put your swords up, you know not what you do this shows that he is not a fighter, he just wants to keep the peace. Also the quote reminds us of when Jesus who said, Forgive them father of their sins, for they know not what they do -. This suggests that innocent people may die for others. We are also introduced to Tyblat, who is a Capulet make full with rage for the Montagues and the word peace, I hate the word, as I hate hell he is one of the characters who will instigate a fight. The next important scene is The Capulet Ball, where Romeo and Juliet first meet.It is also when Tyblat s enters that although he is not traffic with the Montagues intrusion now he will later, I will withdraw, but this intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert to the bitterest gall Gall means poison, which make s us debate of pain and suffering, thus edifice up the tension. Once again Shakespeare shows that Tyblat is nothing more than a big ball of rage, however this is genuinely important as it starts the chain of events that would lead to the death of the two lovers. As Romeo first spots Juliet he uses very descriptive words to describe the way she take cares, he is fascinated by her beauty, Beauty to well-heeled to use , he also sees her as a rare thing, as if hes neer seen someone so beautiful, Snowy doves trooping with the crows . We also learn that Romeo spate change his mind incredibly quickly because at the beginning of the play he seems to be in love with a Rosaline, whilst talking nigh her he uses a lot of oxymorons, Sick health , this shows us his confusion from an early point in the play, although when he sees Juliet he claims to be in love, from this we learn that he is very indecisive and cant make up his own mind, Did my heart not love till now? , this interrogative hints at his indecisiveness and confusion. When Romeo and Juliet finally meet the moment is very child like, they just stare and strickle around each other almost as if to scared to touch. They also speak in the form of a sonnet to show the love that is building up between them. The famous balcony scene is also a huge step towards the oncoming events. As Romeo climbs over the orc seriously garden Juliet is talking to herself on her balcony. In this part the two lovebirds confess their undying love to each other and decide to get married the next day.Whilst claiming to love each other it all seems very serious but its just seems like simple childs play as everything happens within twenty tetrad hours, including a marriage. The marriage is conducted by the Friar who mysteriously states, These violent de sprightlys have violent endings, and their triumphs die, like elan and powder the first bit of the quote links with the violent theme of the play, even the Friar himself sees that Romeo and Juliet get married would end badly, however he still agrees to marry them. The most important scene of all is act three scene one, this after the wedding and where finally everything unfolds. Also as this scene is filled with violence it contrasts with the past scene of the wedding, which is a juxte position of love and hate, which makes the flake more shocking and harder to take in. In act 3 scene 1, Tyblat turns up at the beach to fight with Romeo but ends up having a short comedic fight with Mercutio but there is no violence just funny comments, here(predicate)s my fiddlesticks, heres that you shall make you dance , Mercutio is making a small mockery of Tyblat and this slacken attitude results in the anger within Tyblat building which would lead to the death of Mercutio. However as Romeo arrives the mood of the whole play changes. As Tyblat approaches Romeo, Romeo had just come from his wedding to Tyblat cousin Juliet, and so when Tyblat asks Romeo to fight, Romeo s uddenly claims to love Tyblat and uses that as an excuse not to fight, But love thee better than thou canst devise , I cipher that this aggravates Tyblat even more, as he feels that Romeo is just making fun of him.As Romeo backs down Mercutio gets angry because he is very proud and sees the backing down as O calm dishonourable, vile submission This comments leads to brawl between Mercutio and Tyblat, this ends in the unfortunate death of Mercutio. As he realises that he is dying, Mercutio leaves the audience with something to think about. A plague of both your houses. The death of Mercutio hits Romeo the hardest as he was his closest companion. Romeo begins to fill with rage and goes after Tyblat, who had antecedently run off.Once he has found Tyblat, Romeo looses all sense of control, Doom thee to death the alliteration of the hardd makes us think of pain, as its a hard sound, making the audience think of death. Everything that happens before this was a build up to act three sc ene one, from the ball to the marriage. Romeo is the main character who we learn more and more about as the play progresses. In the beginning he is a soppy teenager and determined that he is in love with Rosaline all the same when he sees Juliet her perks up and changes his mind almost immediately. He desires strongly in fate and he uses it as an excuse to justify his actions and as a way of not taking responsibility, Some consequence, yet hanging in the stars- but he that hath the steerage of my course, direct my sail He knew that there would be some consequence if he went to the ball, yet he still went and it resulted in the death of his closest friend and a member of a rival family. Romeo is reluctant to change the chosen path that has been laid out for him he feels he isnt creditworthy for his own actions. I think the speech reveals that Romeos state of mind isnt really all there, he seems to be omewhere else, he is willing to let everyone else take responsibility for him, he seems really intricate yet stupid. e. g. I blame him for the death of Mercutio, because if he had not been so cowardly and had just fought Tyblat himself, accordingly Mercutio would have not felt the need to intervene. Fate is the main theme of the play, it seems that every action is able to be linked with the theme fate when Tyblat states, This intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert into the bitterest gall and so that was the reason he went looking for Romeo and that lead to his own death. We the modern audience didnt really believe in the whole fate thing as we know that is not possible because science and engineering has proved it. Although, Elizabethans would have been more inclined to believe it, they didnt really know much about science and so believed what they were told. Personally I think that its the parents fault that the events unfolded the way they did, because if they had the courage to put aside their differences and just be civil none of the unfortunate events would have happened, yet they chose to carry on quarrelling which resulted in the death of their own children and family members.Comparing the 2 film versions of Romeo and Juliet Zeffirelli This version is very traditional and is filmed in Verona itself, it keeps very much to the original script. The actors wore traditional clothing which would have been timid by the original actors who performed the play first. Throughout the film it is very dull and has a lack of colour, it isnt eye catching and doesnt give people a lot of things to get excited about. The fighting from act 3 scene 1 wasnt very realistic looking and didnt look like fighting at all. In this version of the film they wear very old fashion clothes and they are totally different to the Luhrmann film. Luhrmann Not as traditional as the Zeffirelli version, it still sticks to the script. sooner of swords like the older one, it has guns and it has a lot of action scenes. The Montagues and Capulets are seen as 2 gangs who both hate each other. They also wear more modern clothes and the 2 groups wear entirely different outfits. In this version the director chooses to skip between Juliet, who has just been married and Romeo and Tyblat fighting, this is a good use of juxte position as the audience doesnt really know what to feel. I preferent the Luhrmann film more than the Zeffirelli version, I wish that it was more modern and it was easy to understand, the actors were very good and I could relate to their characters more.I liked the idea that the Montagues and the Capulets were both seen as gangs and I liked the costumes that they all wore. I defiantly prefer the newer version more and would defiantly watch it again In overall act three scene one is the main turning point in the play because up till then, Romeo and Juliet the play is seen as comedic, no real threatening events have happened and its all light and airy, however when the mood changes and people start fighting and killing each other, dif ferent emotions are brought out from the audiences watching it.All the characters seemed to have changed as the play progressed and its because of the characters personalities, if Romeo hadnt been so irresponsible then he would have never gone to the ball thus Tyblat would have no reason to try out revenge for the gate crash and this also means that Mercutio would have never been killed. Its the main point of the play and creates tension and suspense that is needed for the audience watching to really get into the play. Its where the play where it becomes a tragedy, two of the main characters, Tybalt and Mercutio have been killed. The build up to this has been from Acts 1 & 2 and what happens after those two acts causes the two characters to be killed. From then on it also makes the two star crossed lovers to commit suicide, If act 3 scene 1 hadnt happened then the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet would not have occurred, basically it is seen that fate brought the end to the both of the lovers. I feel that the play would be seen in many different ways, depending on who was watching it and also what period of time they were in. Modern teenagers watching it would

Visitor to Ba Na in summertime can feel the climate of four seasons in one day. In the morning and afternoon, it is cool resembling the weather of spring and autumn. At noon, it is as sunny and cloudless as the weather of summer. And it is cold in the evening. The main attraction is exploring the forest paths and wandering among the ruined villas. In night, we enjoyed the cold air of Ba Na like winter. Then, we joined to camp-fire with other visitors, sang funny songs and danced together. End of the day, we returned to the hotel to sleep and prepare to leave Ba Na. The dyspneal sights from the top of the mountain make the viewers feel like there really is a variant life as they enjoy the happiness of the things that are never known in a bustle urban lifestyle. No one cant deny that Ba Na hill is a masterpiece of record and a pride of Da Nang city. So what a pity if I dont visit Ba Na to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature with my families.

Personal experience with children from divorced families Essay
Two years ago, I was teaching young Korean children ages 8 to 11. Before I started teaching, I was briefly explained close to the conduct of several children by their tutors. A couple of them were from divorced families. I had a difficulty in handling one particular child called J, who was 11 years white-haired at that time. According to his tutor, his parents were divorced recently and as a result, he enrolled in this school. I did non jockey the reason of his parents divorce but his experience was diagnosed with cancer. The tutor was the custodial parent of J.My first scene on J in class was that he was very loud and also it became a role for him non to do his homework and turn up late in class. He became aggressive and tried and true to embarrass me by making ridiculous comments when scolded about his behaviour. On one occasion, J had a weightlift with another boy in class. J actually stabbed this boy with a pencil during break time. Although it was a minor injury, paren ts of two boys had to be called in and Js tutor tried to make both boys talk about why it happened. But they did not say a word. Since Js mother was sick, his grandmother came instead, apologizing for her grandsons action.Nonetheless, explanation of Js grandmother helped me to understand his behaviour. J became difficult to see since his parents divorce. He was furious with the fact that his father left his sick mother for another woman. His grade from preceding school was average but with the change of family environment, he was achieving lower grade. However, considering he was fairly new to the school, he seemed to socialize with other boys easily and seemed to lead them as healthy. I have also noticed that when he was not being loud or seeking attention in my class, he would sit absent-minded and incessantly shake his leg.Besides being aggressive he was probably feeling insecure as well. In the period immediately following the divorce, Js mothers ability to be a good parent probably declined and became more inconsistent in disciplining her son due to her illness. Js reply towards his parents divorce is all mentioned in past studies by Anthony (1974), Hoyt et al. (1990), Kurdekrikberg (1987), Liner (1976), Wickman (1987) where action-out behaviour was most apparent in his behaviour when he had stabbed a boy with a pencil and his reaction also showed that he was very aggressive, as Lee (1993) suggested that children of divorce can become aggressive.Js behaviour of making comments in class also shares Hyatt (1999)s findings of making irrelevant comments in class. J had also developed anger towards his father because he had left his mother when she was sick and Kurdekriberg (1987) mentioned that some children may develop wrath towards one parent after(prenominal) divorce. As illustrated in Lee (1993), Kurdekriberg (1987) and Weitzman (1985)s study, Js academic grade declined and exhibited withdrawing behaviour (1976) such as shaking his leg in class. He was also spotted lost in thoughts in class sitting completely absent-minded and this can make to what Liner (1976) called disorganized behaviour that J probably wanted to escape from this painful reality of his. fact study 2 Another child called B, age 10, in my class, also experienced parents divorce. I got to know Bs background through a homework I assigned in class. opposed J, her parents were divorced when B had just turned 5 and at that time, none of her parents were willing to look after her. Therefore she was left under the care of her grandparents in her mothers side for a fewer years. And then, she joined her mother at the age of 9 who was by then re-married and had children of their own. Being with her mothers also meant moving to another school, hence everything was new to her. Despite the change of the environment, she seemed to have adjusted herself well in school life. She had her own circle of friends and she was also active and lively during class and there was n ot much change in her school grade. I also noticed her suck fingers during class. One day, I assigned the whole class to write about their parents because it was soon to be Parents Day in Korea. Surprisingly, B did not do her home. To be exact, she actually refused to do it because she said there was nothing to talk about and as she was saying this, she was almost in tears. Then she explained her family background and she was ashamed of it. She mentioned that her mother and tintfather hardly gave her all affection and treated her as a burden, hence in order to avoid them, B spent most of her time in her room when she was home. For B, the school was some kind of a safe district and because of her positive attitude in class, I never thought that she was unhappy at home. In my opinion, B was putting all her energy into school life to forget about troubles at home. It was obvious that B had the most difficulty in adapting to step-parenting and remarriage and what made it worse was tha t she hardly knew her mother either. So confronting her mother and step father was a great distress for B.

Political science - Es regularise ExampleYou can not skip out cronyism and lobbyist influence with these laws, only increase the possibility of subterfuge on the part of those who would influence or be influenced. The reforming of political party financing is an excellent example. Annual contributions from individuals to a registered political party ar going to be restricted to $1, 000. This cap lead also be placed on those make by corporations, unions, and organizations. This is an excellent plan, in theory, but there are ways to get around it. Does the administration have the ability and finances to ferret out the origins of every $1,000 contribution individuals make? If they are not currently capable of patrolling the partys contributors now, what makes them think that they will be able to in the future. Someone, say a union official, can pay someone else, or several someones, to make contributions and as large as they stay within the proscribed limits, unless it can be proven otherwise through native investigation, no law has clearly been broken. These people are still exerting political influence within the trammel of the Act.Influence and money are still being applied to the same ends as they were before, even though they are being done legally. In a capitalist country, money will out, and it doesnt matter how many laws there are in effect, including the banning of secret donations to political candidates, people will be turned to others ways of thinking and voting. A considerable number of $499 gifts can be slid under the federal official Accountability Acts radar under these new rules to finance candidates. And if the people who are toilsome to enter politics or are currently involved in politics and their parties are not considered to be strictly honest then how can anyone assume that the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner will be any more unimpeachable? Finally, lobbying has always been a
